8 Day Tanzania Honeymoon Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania
Arrive in Tanzania and meet your Tanzania Miracle Adventures representative.
This first day is intentionally simple. After an international journey, you have time to settle in and prepare for the safari ahead.
Overnight: Arusha
Accommodation: Gran Melia Arusha or altenative
Meals: Not applicable
Day 2: Arusha → Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, begin your journey toward the Serengeti.
Depending on your arrangements, you can travel by road or take a scheduled or private flight into the Serengeti.
Once you arrive, your safari begins.
Your first game drive gives you the opportunity to start experiencing the landscape and wildlife of the Serengeti.
Unlike a fixed sightseeing tour, a safari changes according to what is happening in the park. Your guide will consider wildlife activity, location, road conditions and the interests of your group when planning the day.
Overnight: Serengeti

Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Day 3: Full Day in the Serengeti
Today is dedicated entirely to the Serengeti.
With no need to transfer to another destination, you have more time to explore the park with your guide and respond to what you find along the way.
Your guide will consider the season, recent wildlife activity, weather and the conditions on the ground when planning the day’s game drives.
You may encounter lions, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, hyenas, hippos and many other species, although wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed.

Day 4: Another Full Day in the Serengeti
Your second full day gives you more time to experience the Serengeti without rushing.
This is particularly valuable on safari because wildlife does not follow a timetable. Sometimes an interesting sighting may last only a few minutes. At other times, you may want to stay in one place and simply observe what is happening around you.
Having another full day also allows your guide to explore different areas rather than trying to cover too much ground in a single day.

Day 5: Fly from Serengeti to Zanzibar
After breakfast, transfer for your flight from the Serengeti to Zanzibar.
We recommend flying out from the Serengeti to save over 9 hours of road transfer to Arusha and spending a night in Arusha. With the flight that takes about 2 to 3 hours in total, you will be in Zanzibar on the same day, more relaxed.
You move from safari landscapes and game drives to the Indian Ocean and the historic streets of Zanzibar.
After checking into your accommodation in Stone Town, spend the evening at Forodhani Gardens, a popular waterfront gathering place where you can experience the evening atmosphere and sample local food.

Day 6: Nakupenda Sandbank, Prison Island and Stone Town
Today combines Zanzibar’s marine environment with its historic heart.
Nakupenda Sandbank
Travel by boat to Nakupenda Sandbank for time by the Indian Ocean.
Depending on the conditions, the experience can include swimming, relaxing on the sand and enjoying the surrounding marine environment.
Prison Island
Continue to Prison Island, also known as Changuu Island.
The island is close to Stone Town and is known for its history, coastal setting and giant tortoises.
Stone Town
Later, explore Stone Town, Zanzibar’s historic centre.
Walk through its narrow streets and learn about the history, architecture and cultural influences that have shaped the city over centuries.
After a full day of activities, return to your Stone Town accommodation.
Overnight: Stone Town
Day 7: Spice Tour and Nungwi | Alternatively Gypsea Sailing Experience
After breakfast, begin the journey towards the northern coast of Zanzibar.
Before reaching Nungwi, visit a local spice farm and learn about some of the spices and plants for which Zanzibar has long been associated.
After the spice tour, continue to Nungwi and check into your accommodation.
The evening is intentionally relaxed.
You can spend time at Nungwi Beach, enjoy a swim if conditions are suitable, or simply rest at the hotel after several active days.
Alternative: Gypsea Zanzibar Sailing Experience
Instead of the spice tour and relaxed Nungwi afternoon, you can choose Gypsea, a slow sailing in a traditional dhow specially arranged for an intimitate outing. It usually takes about 3 hours. With Gypsea sailing experience, we will return you to Stone Town.
Overnight: Nungwi or Nungwi.
Day 8: Departure
Depending on your departure time, you may enjoy your final morning in Zanzibar before your transfer to the airport for your onward journey.
Your 8 day Tanzania honeymoon comes to an end.
What Makes this Honeymoon Work
4 Days, 3 nights in the Serengeti
The safari section is long enough to give you a genuine Serengeti experience without making the honeymoon entirely about game drives.
Direct Transition to Zanzibar
Once the safari is finished, you do not return to Arusha (9-10 hours drive) simply to change destinations. You fly from the Serengeti to Zanzibar and begin the second half of the honeymoon. That saves time and makes better use of an eight day trip.
Zanzibar Has a Different Pace
The Zanzibar section is intentionally less demanding. When you fly to Zanzibar you will that day all for relaxation without any activity other than strolling at Forodhani Gardens.
Private Throughout
The itinerary is designed around the couple rather than around a large group. The safari, transfers and Zanzibar arrangements can therefore be planned around your preferred pace and accommodation.
